This article contains everything know about Destiny 2's armor sets. We currently only have the armor sets available during the Beta but we'll make sure to update the this page whenever something new comes up.
Legendary Armor and How They Work
In any Massive Multiplayer Online Game, armor is just as important as your weapon. As the saying goes, your offense is only as good as your defense. Armor in Destiny 2 determines your Resilience, Mobility and Recovery. It also might be a factor when it comes to ability cooldown but nothing about that has been confirmed yet.
More importantly, it affects the way you look and that means a lot to us. You have to look good when you kill things, right? So here we are providing you with all the armor sets you'll want to grind for.
Armor Attributes: Mobility, Resilience, Recovery
Armor in Destiny 2 has three attributes: Resilience, Mobility and Recovery.
Resilience
This governs how much damage your armor can mitigate. It increases the amount of shield points your armor has. A stat usually used by players who like to sit tight and take all the damage they possibly can before ducking back into cover.
Mobility
Mobility governs exactly what the name suggests; your ability to move quickly, may it be running, walking or jump height. This attribute makes you move faster. Its a great tool if your play style involves getting into position for swift strikes or trying to dodge out of harm's way.
Recovery
Recovery determines how fast your shield regenerates. Its perfect for players who prefer to mix this up with Mobility as it allows them to recover some shield points while in the middle of a battle without having to actually take cover since shield recovery can occur anytime as long as you don't receive damage for a certain amount of time.
These attributes may represent the function of each class. Titans favors Resilience for toughness; Hunters go for Mobility; Warlocks prefer quick shield recovery. However this doesn't mean you can't switch them up according to your play style.
Armor Perks
Just as with Weapons, Legendary and Exotic Armor have armor perks that can be swapped out for customized gameplay. They also have Intrinsic perks that add a unique passive. Some Redditors have even speculated that armor in Destiny 2 will be similar to armor in Destiny 1 where armor perks may affect ability cooldowns.
Usually factions and activities, from which these armor sets may be obtained, are associated with their own respective armor. Based on what we've seen in sneak peaks and through the Beta, it looks as though Destiny 2 will follow the same pattern. We can also expect armor sets for Dead Orbit and other factions, the Raid, Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris should it return in Destiny 2.
Legendary Titan Armor
Noble Constant Type 2 - Default Campaign Set
The default armor set for Titan's is the Noble Constant. Featuring this red and white armor with the lynx decals seen in trailers and promotional art. Titans started off with this armor during the beta's first mission, Homecoming.
Phoenix Strife Type 0 - Crucible Set
Here we have the Titan's Crucible set, The Phoenix Strife Type 0. Featuring its fur collar and spiked pauldrons, this armor set will be a favorite among Destiny fashionistas. This armor set can be acquired from fighting in Crucible matches.
The Shelter In Place - Inverted Spire Strike Set
Straying away from the other armor, this Vanguard set comes in a default blue and orange color scheme. Players may obtain this armor set from the Inverted Spire and you'd probably be able to purchase it from the Titan Vanguard Commander Zavala.
Legendary Warlock Armor
Ego talon IV - Default Campaign Set
The Ego Talon IV is the 'default' Warlock armor used during the beta - sleek, black and gold schemed armor. This is also the same armor used in Destiny 2's promotional designs at E3. All Warlocks during the beta start off with this set but its unlikely that you'll start the full game with a full set of legendary gear. Any factions affiliated to this armor set(if there are any) is unknown and unconfirmed.
Ankaa Seeker IV - Crucible Set
The Ankaa Seeker set can be obtained from playing Crucible matches however in the finished game, players might be able to purchase these at the Crucible vendors. We can expect PvP boss, Lord Shaxx, to be back in Destiny 2 since he's in the first mission you play in the beta.
Xenos Vale IV - Inverted Spire Strike Set
The Xenos Vale is part of the Warlock Vanguard. The front line soldiers or also known as humanity's best Guardians whom are led by Zavala, Cayde-6 and Ikora Rey. During the beta, all Vanguard armor would drop from the Inverted Spire strike and we suspect will also be purchasable from your class mentor.
Legendary Hunter Armor
The Frumious - Default Campaign Set
This armor set is the default armor that Hunters get to use during the beta. The promotional armor set is styled with the scaled hood and cloak. This is the same armor set we've been seeing at the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal.
Sword Flight 4.1 - Crucible Set
The Hunter's Crucible set is fashionably designed for what it was made for: Battle. Hard, long battles. The Swordflight 4.1 is a heavy armor set meant to be used for intense combat and you can get them from the battle intensive Crucible. Wearing this armor will surely make you feel protected.
The Took Offence - Inverted Spire Strike Set
The Took Offence is the Hunter's Vanguard set and look appropriately designed for what its going to be used for. Exploring the vast worlds of Destiny requires something both light, sturdy and armor packed. Acquired from the Inverted Spire strike, this armor set fits perfectly well with Hunters who prefer the beat-down, rugged look.
