This page is dedicated to Xur's location and inventory. We're unsure if Xur will be back in Destiny 2 or a similar character like Xur will be used as a replacement but we encourage players to check this page every now and then as it will be updated accordingly.
First, it is important to know who Xur is and his background. Xur is important to Destiny and its lore, shrouded with mystery and mysticism. Xur is an Agent of the Nine and who the Nine are is a completely different mystery on its own. Only the Queen really knows who the Nine are and all we really know is that the Nine are the rulers of the Jovians and that the Jovians are worlds beyond the asteroid belt.
Nobody really knows who Xur is and why he's travelling so many light years to sell us some really expensive gear or where he's even getting his supply but all we know for certain(minus all the theories) is that he's a merchant trying to help the Guardians by selling his really expensive gear or is he really trying to help the Guardians? That's a whole new different theory for another day.
In Destiny 1, Xur likes to hang around the Tower and Vestian Outpost on the weekends but appears in different locations every time. In Destiny 2, it is unclear if Xur will return since we see Ghaul and his Red Legion taking control of the Traveler where Xur's favorite hang out spots are located in.
Now this is where the theories come in. Thanks to Reddit user 'DwarfmanDDH', we may have a very good lead on where we might find Xur in Destiny 2.
The Nine in D2 : DestinyTheGame
The Redditor explains that on line three of the Ghost Fragment: Legends 2 that The Nine were Leviathans on Europa or the hydrocarbon pits of Titan. Titan, the largest moon of Saturn; and Saturn being part of the Jovian worlds where the Nine were rulers.
As we all know, Titan is a new area being introduced in Destiny 2 and if its true that the Nine were Leviathans on Titan, we could possibly find Xur on his home planet.
Incidentally, other redditors have also pointed out that in line 5 of the Ghost Fragment: Legends 2 that The Nine's minds now race down the field lines of the Jupiter-Io flux tube. Io, as we've been hinted at is also a new planet being introduced in Destiny 2 and specifically the Jupiter-Io flux tube which we've seen in the Destiny 2 game reveal videos. So we could be looking into multi-planetary locations for Xur to sell his wares.
The Destiny community has always been keeping up with Xur's location to the point where its almost turned into a game of sorts and we think that it wouldn't be far-fetched if the developers decided to further expand on this little game of hide and seek.
