The Farm is a social space/hub for Guardians where they can interact with other players away from the battlefield.
As of the Beta, There were no NPCs available in the Farm. However once the game is released NPCs will be available who will sell you items for trade or give you quests.
The Farm can also be used as a lobby where players can wait for their friends or even possibly trade with them. Players may play a game of soccer with each other and hopefully more features will be added into the social space.
The Farm will be in the European Dead-Zone on Earth. The EDZ is also a new area added into Destiny 2. As of the Beta, The Farm could only be accessible for one hour as a test to see how players would interact within The Farm. The Farm was opened on July 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EDT)
