Titans were designed to be massive, they are the vanguard in every battle and the new subclass for the Titan allows players to wield a shield which can be used for protection or can be thrown in a Captain America-like fashion. With the Sentinel Shield, the Titan class has become an even tougher foe to take down.
The Sentinel can build to be as a tank soaking up damage while the rest of your team focuses on dealing damage or as a hybrid tank/damage dealer. The Sentinel allows the player to stay out on the battlefield without having to worry too much about taking in damage allowing the sentinel to stay in the battle longer causing mayhem and destruction in its wake.
Having the ability to bash enemies or to virtually be able to block ANY kind of damage with a shield makes this sub classes an invaluable asset to the team.

Super: Sentinel Shield
The Sentinel Shield should not be taken lightly. As a shield, it can be used to protect teams from ANY form of damage (including Supers).
Just how much can a Sentinel Shield block?
It really depends on how much Super energy you have left. The Sentinel Shield can block everything thrown at it but at the cost of super energy. The more damage the shield mitigates the faster your super will drain. Keep an eye on your Super bar to make proper estimates.
Blocking mechanics:
The shield can only block attacks coming from the front. Make sure you're blocking something in front of you and any attacks with area of effect damage may still hit you but you'd still be blocking a huge amount of damage if the point of impact hits your shield.
If you block an attack that depletes the rest of your super energy, your Titan will get knockbacked a bit rendering you unable to defend yourself.
Each time your shield takes damage, your Super energy is depleted and blocking an enemy Super will take a huge chunk out of your Super energy.
Your shield will block any and all super hits sent into your shield. As long as you have enough super energy to block it, you should be fine.
List of Sentinel Shield Movesets
Being able to mitigate damage and deal damage at the same time is how players can make the most of the sentinel. Not only are you providing yourself and the team some protection, you're also capable of closing the gap, keeping your enemies on their toes as they flee from your shield bashing! Here are some combos and move sets that the Sentinel has at the ready. Finding a good balance between block and attacking will be your key to becoming a formidable Sentinel.
Shield Strike (R1/ Melee Button)
This attack is a close range shield strike that can be used to close some distance between enemies as it gives the Sentinel a very short forward movement.
Shield throw (L1 / Grenade Ability Button)
The Sentinel will throw his shield in the direction you are facing and if used properly can ricochet off of several enemies and killing multiple enemies. Has a long cooldown. The Sentinel can have two charges of the Shield throw once they learn Second Shield from the Code of the Aggressor skill tree.
Shield Guard (LT/L2/Weapon Aim Button)
Use the Sentinel Shield to protect himself from damage coming from the front. Can mitigate a large amount of damage. Shield Guard is great against projectiles but slows down the Sentinel's movement. A good strategy would be to triple melee combo and then pop up your shield guard while the Sentinel recovers from the combo window.
Shield Strike to Shield Backhand (Melee 2x)
Press R1/Melee button twice in succession to use a backhand strike with the Sentinel Shield.
Three Shield Strike Combo (Melee x3)
Press the R1/Melee button three times in succession to finish with a shield bash that can deal damage at a short distance. Can also be used to close the gap between enemies as it gives the sentinel a short burst forward.
Ward of Dawn (Press and Hold L1 + R1)
The Sentinel will summon a shield dome to protect fellow guardians from harm. Sentinels will have to charge up their Super and use it in exchange for the Sentinel Shield. The Sentinel cannot use the Ward of Dawn and the Sentinel Shield together since both use up all of the Super's charge.
Team Play Support
With abilities like Defensive Strike and Rallying force, the Sentinel may provide an overshield for nearby Guardians and even recover some health for each melee kill. It is highly recommended for players in PvE or Strike missions to use their melee strikes as finishers instead of completely killing enemies with their weapons.
Overall, the Titan Sentinel is a force to be feared if played well. Properly timing when to shield guard and learning how to ricochet your shield throw off of enemies will be essential to the Sentinel's success.
